Where to Go Fishing in Spartanburg This Fall

Fall is here again! If you’re looking for a way to take advantage of the cooler weather and spend some time outdoors, then check out some of the awesome local fishing spots around our apartments in Spartanburg. There’s no better way to spend a sunny fall day!

Croft State Park

At Croft State Park, you can either fish from the banks of Lake Craig – which is an astounding 165 acres of pristine freshwater – or you can rent a fishing boat and cast a line on the water. You will enjoy catching several species of freshwater fish here, such as bass and catfish. However, you will need a valid South Carolina fishing license.

Glendale Shoals Preserve

Glendale Shoals is located on 13 scenic acres of land surrounding the old Glendale Mill on Lawson’s Fork Creek. This place is open from dawn to dusk, and the fishing here is amazing, especially in the fall. You’ll catch dozens of bass, sunfish, and trout. They have a beautiful natural walking trail, too. There’s even a gorgeous waterfall cascading over a dam.

King’s Mountain State Park

If you’re up for a bit of a drive, King’s Mountain is a great place to go fishing. Started in 1936, it has not one, but two fantastic fishing lakes to choose from, Lake York and Lake Crawford. You’ll find species like crappie and bream here. You can also rent a fishing boat for either a half-day or a full day of fishing adventures. It’s a beautiful place to sit back, set your line, and reconnect with nature.

If you need a place to unwind in the wild, take a trip to one of these amazing fishing spots around Spartanburg. On your way home to your apartment, treat yourself to a delicious frozen dessert at a local ice cream shop. If you would like to become a member of our amazing community here at Reserve at Park West, then please contact us. Our team will schedule a private tour of our Spartanburg apartments.
